One more of new powder coat

Powder coated wheels (before/after)

Been Slacking on the blog

I have been slacking on keeping the blog up to date but I will try to catch up. Since last post I got the rims powder coated and new tire put one. While the wheels were off I went ahead and put in new bearing. Also went with a sliver powder coat on the wheels instead of the original black. I think it looks better. All the brakes have been redone and a new clutch slave cylinder installed. Replaced all light bulbs with new one and found out that the headlight using a car bulb (H2) so I was able to pick up a silver start bulb from autozone pretty cheap. It is a whole lot brighter than the stock one. I am waiting on the front fork seal which should be here tomorrow. After that all that will be left is to get the carbs sync'd up. I have been riding around the hood and everyone is looking like what the heck is that. I still don't have any body work on the bike so it look like something from mad max. I will try to keep the blog up from now on. later.

Took the bike for a ride.

Got the back brakes working so I figured what the heck, Let see if it still goes down the road. So I pushed it out of the garage and fired it up, put the seat on it and took off. Got to the end of the drive way and noticed it was hard to steer. Check the front tire and it only had 10 psi. Went back and aired up both tires and took it for a spin up and down the street. So it looks like I might be able to bring it back to life after all. Today I am in the process of taking the front and back tire off to get new tires and I am thinking about getting the wheel powder coated. If I do I will post so pic of the results. Stayed tuned.

I have been slacking on the blog

I have been slacking on the blog so I will try catch up with what has been done to the bike. Finished rebuilding the clutch and brake master cylinders. Do you self a favor if you ever what to do this get a set of 55mm snap ring plyers from Z1 enterprises. I tried for a hour with another pair and gave up and order them, when they got here it took longer to get them out of the box that it did to remove the snap ring. Anyway while I had the brakes apart I thought I would try a experiment. I got some spray on caliper paint and painted them and the brackets. Check out the pics, they look good now. We will see how well it holds up onces I get bike going. Got the gas gauge fixed with a little solder so I will be putting the gas back together hopefully for the last time.

see ya

Back running again

Put the tank on and turned on the gas and after a few tries it started up. Finally. Need to adjust the carbs but at least it is running again. Did some rear brake work also. Looks like I need new piston seals and brake line so I ordered them tonight. Think I will concentrate on the brakes and give the carbs and me a break. The gas gauge wasn't working and after some checking I found a broken wire connector. I think a little soder will fix it up. Maybe a can talk my friend Carlos into doing it for me sense I can't find my sodering gun.

Carb work.

Over the past few weeks I have become a Keihin CVK carb expert. I have taken them apart 5 or six times now to clean and adjust them. Hopefully today I will hook up the gas tank and it will run. I would like to move on to something else on the bike. I did work on the clutch slave cylnder and it was full of the same sludge that was in the clutch master cylnder. Had to order a new seal so it is on hold till it gets here.
